Where are Boston’s testing sites?

Find a COVID-19 testing site near you.

COVID-19 testing is essential for a safe reopening. The City of Boston partners with community health centers to offer free testing for Boston residents, especially in neighborhoods experiencing higher rates of infection.

Important notes before you head to a testing site:

  • Testing is free regardless of insurance or immigration status, and will not affect “public charge” rule determinations.
  • You must call ahead for pre-screening and to schedule an appointment at all sites.
  • Hours vary between sites. Please call before you go.
  • Many of the sites have capacity for languages in addition to English.
  • Contact your health insurance provider with insurance coverage questions.

The multilingual Mayor’s Health Line (617-534-5050) can help with health insurance applications, navigating Boston’s health care system and COVID-19 questions.

Wondering when you should get tested for COVID-19?

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath. COVID-19 is transmitted most commonly through direct contact with a person carrying the virus. If you have symptoms of this virus, you should call your healthcare provider, who will assess your symptoms and will determine if you should be tested.  Everyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 must seek care to confirm diagnosis and to receive appropriate advice on self-care and preventing spread to family, friends, and other close contacts.
