Beginning in March, as the country went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, concentrations of the air pollutant NO2 decreased compared to previous years. The charts show the average monthly concentration of NO2 recorded in each city. The yellow markers indicate the months March, April and May; in 2020, these months were generally marked by the strictest lockdown measures. Data for concentrations comes from the EPAs Air Quality System.
