At The Scope: Boston, the desire to innovate runs deep. We were founded at Northeastern University, staffed by student reporters in the School of Journalism. The print format is our bread and butter, but we don’t shy away from experimentation in our storytelling; we publish photo stories, videos and data visualizations, and recently expanded our offerings to audio with The Scope Podcast.
In the spirit of innovation, we’re trying something new — something that will bring you, the audience, closer to our reporting than ever before.
Introducing The Inside Scope, a crowdsourced journalism series in which your curiosity guides the stories we tell.
Here’s how it works:
- You ask a question, which is collected and vetted by The Scope’s editorial team.
- With your help, a Scope reporter will investigate the question and try to answer it.
- The story will be published here, on The Scope website.
Your questions can cover anything related to Boston, including city government and politics, things happening in your community, local history and traditions or businesses in your area.
That’s all there is to it, so go ahead and ask your question. If your question is selected for the series, a Scope reporter will be in touch. Stories will be uploaded to The Scope in early 2024.
