The Scope‘s Managing Editor Eileen O’Grady, hosted an online discussion about the role of social justice journalism during the coronavirus pandemic. She was joined by the Scope’s Editor-in-Chief Cat McGloin, The Bay State Banner’s editor, Yawu Miller, Northeastern University’s media advocacy students and local reporters.

On the agenda were questions on how best to cover disasters through a social justice lens, the challenges of local reporting during a pandemic, and how coronavirus coverage may shape journalism in the future.
